Dear Members,
The Council has been informed by the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia that of late; they have been receiving a number of trade complaints from Indian companies against Malaysian importers/exporters. The complaints mainly relate to the following:
Supply of sub-standard goods, inferior quality;
Refusal to send consignments on receipt of payment;
Stopping communications on receipt of advance payment;
Refusal to make payment after taking control of consignment exported from India on some pretext;
Refusal to take delivery of the consignment when the market value of the imported item has gone down from the value fixed in agreement; etc.
In order to mitigate such trade frauds, one of the steps taken by the Mission is maintaining a database of such Malaysian importers/exporters. The list of such companies is enclosed for your reference. The Members are requested to avoid dealing with these unscrupulous Malaysian companies. Members may also reiterate that they should satisfy themselves of the genuineness of the company before doing business with them.
